Richard L. Barnes

Richard L. Barnes, age 75, of Lawrenceville, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2020 at Northside Hospital Gwinnett. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Bertha and Ernest Barnes; and his great-nephew Max Janton. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Hughes Barnes, of 54 years; brother, Larry Barnes, Sr.; sister, Frances Bounds; father and mother-in-law Mac and Peggy Hughes; sister-in-law, Debbie Hughes; brother-in-law, Dale Hughes; nephews, Larry Barnes, Jr., Randy Bounds, and Michael Bounds; nieces, Lynn Barnes, Teresa Benefield, Kim McKenzie, and Keri Janton; and great niece and nephews. Richard was a military Air Force veteran. He retired from Scientific Atlanta/Cisco after 37 years of service. He was a ham radio operator for over 50 years, and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was dearly loved by his family, and all who knew him. We will miss his kindness, his smile, his laugh, and his love of life. A service will be planned for a later date.
