Obituary – Donna L. Glover
Donna Lynn Dawkins Glover, 69, passed away in her home in Jefferson, Georgia on Sunday, September 19, 2021. Donna was a beautiful southern woman with a kind, gentle spirit and a strong love of her family and all animals. She was born to the Dawkins family in Atlanta, Georgia on February 17, 1952. Donna and Jack, her husband, met as teenagers.

Donna loved going to the beach, especially St. Augustine Florida. She loved to collect jewelry and all kinds of trinkets including angels, animal figurines, and many others. She loved gardening and often brought flowers she had grown into the house. Donna had a great sense of humor and consistent positive attitude. She loved to laugh and have fun with family.

Donna was also an intelligent, dedicated and highly-skilled employee. She was promoted to vice president at Southern Consultant Services, Inc., an insurance-related company. She worked there for more than 20 years. Earlier in her career, she was employed by Southern Bell Telephone and Telegraph Company and McCurdy Chevrolet. In the latter part of her career, she cared for senior adults. Compassion was her strong suit and her customers loved her dearly.

Donna had a very strong Christian faith and was a committed prayer warrior. She loved listening to Dr. Charles Stanley and attended First Baptist Atlanta for a time. She listened to sermons on her phone nearly every day and always took detailed notes.

Donna was a true animal lover. Her dog Sadie was with her when she passed away. Sadie was a stray dog in a neighborhood a few years ago. No one could get close to the pup, however, within a week or so, Sadie began following Donna everywhere. Sadie instantly became a family member of Donna’s. Her pets included many cats, several birds, fish, a turtle, and an assortment of dogs.

She will be remembered most for her love of others. Whenever she spoke to a family member, Donna told them how much she loved them and how much they meant to her.

Donna is preceded in death by her mother and father Robert and Edith Dawkins. She is survived by her husband, Jack Glover, daughter Bonnie Milam, grandson Logan McGraw, sister Robyn Marshall (John), brother David Dawkins, aunt Dale Moss (C.W.) and niece, Victoria Dawkins

A private family celebration of her life will be held at Wages and Sons Funeral l Home, Lawrenceville, Georgia with Rev. C. W. Moss officiating.
