Resided in: Grayson, Georgia

David Brian Casey, age 64, left this world to be with his Lord and Savior on October 19, 2022 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Atlanta, GA after suffering a lengthy illness with heart failure. Brian was born November 11, 1957 in Atlanta to Lottie Ewing Casey and Jesse Lee Casey. He grew up in Lilburn, GA, graduating in 1975 from Berkmar High School where he was an awesome Linebacker for the football team. He was self-employed in the auto industry in Lawrenceville for 30 years, and previously worked for Nash Chevrolet. Brian was a true friend to everyone he met. He was immensely loved and trusted for his genuineness, kind heart, gentle spirit, honesty, fairness, and willingness to help anyone in need. Brian loved the Lord and he had a humble heart with unconditional love for his family and friends. When he wasn’t working, he loved to hunt, fish, go camping, watch football, drag racing and his favorite Western movies, and especially to spend time with his two tiny dogs, Angel-Baby and Sugarpie, and to travel with his wife, Brian’s message before he left this world was to turn your life to God to trust Him no matter what you go through, to love deeper, speak sweeter, show loving kindness to others without expectation for repayment, and to give whole-hearted forgiveness. Everyone who knew him knows this was the very essence of Brian, and how he lived his life. So many of Brian’s friends have referred to him as an Angel on earth. And now, he is free with our Lord and celebrating with the angels in heaven. No more tubes, wires, or machines keeping him alive and bound to his earthly suffering.

Those left behind to mourn his passing are his devoted and loving wife, Kathleen, his two sons, David Todd Casey (Brittnie) and Jesse Daniel Casey (Max), his two beautiful granddaughters, Chloe Casey and Caylen Casey, his brother, Mike Casey (Debra), his nephew Adam Casey, great-nephew Clayton Casey, and his favorite niece Kellie Casey. Brian also leaves behind his special family members: Gary, Bridget, Kimberly, and Jamie Jordan, and Chase Christopolous, who very often assisted Kathy with his caregiving over the past many years with unconditional love, support and compassion. A special mention of thank you to the heart team of Dr. David Markham at Emory St. Joseph Hospital Heart Clinic for their incredible care and support for the past many years, and to Joel and Kimberly Harden of Marietta for their unending compassion, assistance, love and endless visits to provide comfort and encouragement to Brian and Kathy.

Brian was predeceased by his parents and former wife, Donna Maddox, who he also dearly loved until her untimely passing many years ago. Wages and Sons Funeral Home of Lawrenceville is handling the funeral arrangements. Brian will be cremated with his ashes being interred at a later date alongside his parents at Reformation Presbyterian Church (Formerly Friendship Primitive Baptist Church) in Snellville, GA. A memorial for Brian will be held in the chapel at Wages and Sons Funeral Home at 1031 Lawrenceville Hwy., Lawrenceville, GA on Saturday, October 29, 2022 with visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. and a short service following at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that anyone wishing to make contributions please do so by contacting Clark’s Christmas for Kids to provide Christmas gifts for children in need in Brian’s memory. This can be done by contacting Clark Howard at clarkhoward.com.
