Danny Richard Storey, residing in Suwanee, Ga., passed away on January 7, 2025 after a battle with Leukemia. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Harold C. Storey, Thelma “Ruth” Storey, and his brother, Harold “Clinton” Storey, Jr.
Born on November 12, 1946 in Atlanta, Danny was destined for an extraordinary life. Growing up in Kirkwood and attending Murphy High School, where he built life-long friendships. He attended Georgia Tech and graduated as a Civil Engineer in 1969. While at Tech he was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity, where he also built lifelong friendships. Later that year, he welcomed his son, Kevin, followed by his daughter, Kipley. After graduation, he began his first career with Chicago Bridge & Iron. This involved multiple moves throughout the U.S. and included 5 years in Brazil. During his 17 years with CBI, he made his family his first priority. Upon returning to Georgia in 1987, Danny began his second career, as a luxury custom homebuilder with Profile Homes. In 1998, he and his son, Kevin, formed the family business, Storey Custom Homes. He took pride in working with his family and building award-winning homes.
Danny met and married Linda in 2001, where he found love & happiness. They enjoyed annual family vacations, sporting events, and watching their grandchildren grow up with all their activities. He and Linda shared many community activities involving Rotary, Gwinnett Chamber, Gwinnett Tech Board, Salvation Army and Boy Scouts Board. Danny was always willing to help and liked mentoring young people. He was quite a storyteller and loved sharing his life experiences. Above all else, Danny’s family was first and foremost.
Danny is survived by his wife, Linda Storey, son and daughter-in-law, Kevin & Jenny Storey, his daughter and son-in-law, Kipley & Charles Morrow. Grandchildren: Amber, Zoe, Ansley and Chase. Great grandchildren: Declan, Blake, Elijah, and Collins. Numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Sunday, January 12, 2025 at Wages & Sons Gwinnett Chapel, 1031 Lawrenceville Highway, Lawrenceville, Ga 30046. Visitation will be at from 1:00PM – 2:00PM, followed by the service at 2:00PM, with a reception to follow. Burial service for family members on Monday at West View Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Danny’s name to the Gary Sinise Foundation.

Linda,
I am so very sorry for your loss. Although I never had the opportunity to meet Danny, by reading his story and knowing him through you, I know he will be greatly missed by all those who loved him and all those he served. Please know that I am sending warm hugs and prayers for all of you.
Danny will be missed. He is such a gentle hearted, caring and wonderful person. Our prayers are with Danny’s family and friends in these difficult times.

So sorry I missed the service, I didn’t even know he passed until today. I worked on Danny’s homes since Wade Johnson and profile homes. I’ve known Danny over 30 years and never had a harsh word for him or from him and that’s an accomplishment in the home building business. I will miss him, even though we’ve been out of touch the past several years, he fought hard, but thankfully the Lord took him home to glory and he’s no longer in pain. A truly good man and it was a pleasure working for him for so many years. Praying for peace over the family.
