Kellie Diane Puglise

June 7, 1968 ~ April 8, 2025
Born in:
Tuscaloosa, Alabama
Resided in:
Loganville, Georgia
Loving and Devoted Wife to Michael Puglise, Mother to Brooke (Houston) Washburn
and Nonna to Pierce (7) and Waverly Washburn (3).
Beloved Daughter to Sandy and Leonard McClendon Hardy, Jr. and Sister to Darrell
Hardy, Tonya Hardy Roy, Michael Hardy and Shandon Hardy. Aunt to Sarah Hardy and
Hope Marie Sessions.
Active Parishioner at St. Peter Chanel Catholic Church where she worshipped with her
daughter, son-in–law, and two beautiful grandchildren, Pierce and Waverly.
Kellie loved unconditionally, without judgment and with her entire heart. She was born
on the University of Alabama and was “Roll Tide” all her life until her beloved son-in-law,
Houston, converted her to the Red and Black. She gleefully attended “Go Dawgs”
games with Pierce and Waverly and Margaret and Eric.
Kellie’s life was devoted to Jesus Christ through her Catholic faith as well as her
passionate devotion to Our Blessed Mother. Her recitations of the Rosary, love for the
unborn and children was a testimony to others. Her kindness was a bright light seen in
her beautiful smile, bright blue eyes and felt with each loving embrace. She believed
and would always say to us, “God never abandons us.”
To know Kellie is to fully understand her love for Brooke, Houston, Pierce, Waverly and
Buck. Their love for one another created an undeniably special bond. “Nonna” was
more than a Mother, or a mother in law or grandmother. She was a beaming example of
devout faith and of what’s truly important in life. A day didn’t pass where Kellie, Pierce
and Waverly wouldn’t say “you’re always in my heart” and that will remain true forever.
Michael and Kellie built a business together, they were best friends and an amazing
example of what faith, hope and love can overcome and succeed. Their law firm will
further thrive as Michael, Brooke and Houston take what they have learned from Kellie.
Kellie loved her Puglise/Washburn Family. When Brooke and Houston married, their
union brought forth greater union that will always stick together, love each other and be
one another’s support systems. Kellie was best friends with Brooke’s mother in law, The
Honorable Margaret Gettle Washburn and her fiancée, Eric Ballinger, who was also a
law school graduate alongside Michael. Her friendship with Lawrence Lee Washburn III
and his wife, Nita Tonne was one on which she relied upon with great respect. Kellie
also loved and adored Brooke’s brother in law, Lawrence Lee Washburn IV and his wife
Rachael Goldstucker Washburn and their two wonderful children. Kellie loved Brooke’s
sisters-in-law, Rebecca Tonne and Jessica Tonne and was so very proud of them and
all that they have accomplished.
Kellie is preceded in death by her father, Leonard McClendon Hardy Jr., her father in
law John G, Puglise, her mother in law, Helen Bedgood Puglise, her sister, Tonya Hardy
Roy, her brother, Darrell Hardy, her Aunt Carolyn Matherne, her Uncle, Willie Matherne
as well as Kenneth and Celia Boswell.

What a beautiful tribute to your precious mom. I remember meeting her years and years ago at GAC. No doubt she was a woman of faith and I loved reading how she always shared that “God never abandons us.” I pray that the memories of your mom will forever be etched in your hearts and that God will provide comfort during this difficult time.
Love and prayers,
Lori Walker

We are praying for your family during this time. Please accept our condolences.
Brooke, I pray with my whole heart for your whole family.
Kellie and Mike helped our family in times of need. We will always be grateful for their kindness and generosity. We are here to support in any way we can.
We will always remember Kellie with a big smile. I will pray the rosary for her and her loved ones as she would have done for us.
I know she is in heaven catching up with all her loved ones who also parted too soon.
I have many beautiful memories of Kellie, but one of my favorites is when she would drive around with Gus and Chloe. Kellie was always busy decorating, remodeling, and adding a special touch to her home and the office.
She also always smelled fantastic. We are blessed to have known her and will miss her greatly.
I am heartbroken for you in the unexpected loss of Kellie. She was such a sweet special lady. When I saw her about 3 weeks ago at Bobs rehab, she was her usual bubbly self. It seemed like we saw each other every day. I will continue to pray for peace for the family.
Love,
Jan Miller
