Alfred has been my good friend for almost 50 years. We met at the Sugar Factory and he was a sugar boiler… just like me. We ate together, we drank together and laughed together. It was so much fun when we met, with Hopper, in St. Kitts for the Cricket World Cup. Deb and I have so enjoyed our weekly chats over the last couple of years and we will both miss his laughter, his smile and his great sense of humor. We will be keeping you all in our prayers in the difficult days and weeks ahead.
With our love and sympathy,
Paul and Deb Richardson
When good friends transition from this world, we are left without any words to really express the loss we feel. We all know this day will come, yet it is difficult to comprehend when it does.
Bassue, as we affectionately called him, was a good and dependable co worker.
He was a faithful and loyal friend and his support could always be counted on.
He enjoyed a good joke and his laughter could still be heard.
He loved to discuss politics and was never afraid to let you know how strongly he felt about issues that affected our Country!
He worked hard all his life, loved his family and enjoyed hanging out with his friends.
The memories of Bassue will live on. Rest in Eternal Peace our friend.
It was with great sadness to hear of Alfred’s passing. We had a friendship for over 50 years and during that time I never called him Alfred or Bassue but always William. I have no idea where that name came from but he never once corrected me. We had such good memorable times together as a family and also liming with the boys. He was a jack of all trades and one you could call upon at anytime to assist with anything, particularly with painting, We are sure that he had a hand in painting all the homes of his friends.
He and I were members of the St Kitts National Players Theatre Movement for many years and we travelled together overseas to perform. We have fond memories of the many picnics and kite flying at Easter in the countryside, as well as other family outings.
He will always be fondly remembered. May his soul Rest in eternal Peace.
Bernard (BT) Rawlins and family
Where do I begin? I can picture you like a photograph, I can see your smile, I can hear your infectious laugh. No I don’t have to look back I remember you. He wasn’t just a neighbor, he was also my other Daddy, my friend and my helper. He helped every Tom, Dick and Harry.
Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure, you are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.
You are now in a better place, no more pain. Rest on my friend in Eternal Peace. Will miss you.
I trust that God will strengthen Tan, Jason, Elizida, Kareem and the rest of the family in this difficult time.
Dear Tan, Jason and family,
Bassue was a dear friend. I will miss his laughter, his forthright comebacks and his jovial nature. My thoughts and prayers are with you. He will not be forgotten.
Mrs Bassue and Family I know you are going to miss him dearly but God is the great comforter, trust in Him.
I leave these words of a well known Methodist hymn with you all:- “We expect a bright tomorrow All will be well
Faith can sing through days of sorrow
All, All is well
On our Father’s love relying
Jesus every need supplying
Then in living or in dying All must be well.
Sending God’s love and Comfort from our families, God cares and we care, May the God of Hope fill our hearts and help us to prepare to one day meet our Creator and loved ones alive on the Great day of inexpressible Joy !!
Uncle Alfred, where do I begin. I remember the days of “Bus Stop Bar” the lime was there. Alfred, BT, Jimmy, Richardson. The weekend lime, the Boys and the beers. Those we the days.
Then I move to New Road, almost neighbours. I often drop by the house for a little lime, to chat a bit and see how you and Tan doing. I would sure miss that. You would be sure miss Uncle Alfred. Continue to Sleep in Peace.
To Mrs. Bassue and Family,
Our deepest sympathies go out to you and your and family. Although we may not have spent as much time with Mr. Bassue as everyone else, we will truly miss him. We will never forget his gentle spirit and warm smile. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
With Love,
Coffeyville, KS Family
To Mrs. Bassue and the entire family, my sincere condolences. Although it has been many years (over 20 years) since I’ve seen Mr. Bassue (Alfred), I have never forgotten his unique warmth towards everyone he met. He made you feel comfortable in any setting and was always gracious and respectful. I heard his voice a few months ago on the phone. Had I known it would it would have been the last time before his final farewell, I would have stayed on the phone a little longer. Rest In Peace, my friend. You will never be forgotten.

Bassue was like a big brother to me and my best friend. Bassue enjoyed life. He loved his family and he enjoyed the time he spent with his friends. Among other things, politics was one of our favorite things to argue about. Bassue was a kind hearted person and he will be greatly missed by many. My dear friend rest in eternal peace.
We had great days and memories from YSCS.
Rest In Peace my friend
