Alice Marie Williams was born on March 4, 1962 at Beth Israel Hospital in New York City. Alice was the oldest second child and the daughter of the late Reverend Charles James Smith of Asheville, North Carolina, and Reverend Eleanor Louise Smith formally of New London, Connecticut, and currently residing in Selma, Alabama.
Alice leaves to cherish her husband of 28 years Greg Williams of Lilburn, Georgia. She was the mother of three children: Dr. Alisha (Dr. Howard) Jean-Denis of Calabasas, California; Mark Williams and Vaughn Williams of Lilburn, Georgia. Three grandchildren who adored their loving “Glammama”, Jayla Webber (16), Hayden Jean-Denis (8), and Yara Bleu Jean-Denis (4)
Alice was preceded in death by one sibling Clayton Smith, and one brother-in-law Guy Williams.
Her remaining siblings include sisters Derine (Edward) Carter of Selma, AL., Charline (Daryl) Sheppard of New London, CT, Carolyn (Tracy) Lyons of New Haven, CT, and brother Cephas Smith of Denver, CO.
One sister in-law Wendy Williams of New York, three brothers-in-law, Jack Williams, Jason Williams, and Drew Williams, all of Georgia.
Alice loved her cousins, nieces, nephews, Godchildren, and all who adoringly loved their relationship with their “Auntie Alice”.
Alice was the owner of Affordable and Loving Daycare where she provided care to many children in Stratford and surrounding areas in CT for more than 15 years. She loved children and opened her home to them and their families beyond the daycare hours. She was a productive and compassionate caregiver. Alice went on to open a second daycare location which was also very successful and received one of the highest daycare honors, the NAEYC accreditation, which Alice was most proud of.
Alice received numerous degrees and certification from the CBI (Connecticut Business Institute). When Alice became interested in opening a daycare, this led her down the path of receiving an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education, a Bachelor of Science degree, and double Master’s degrees in Child and Adolescent Development and Educational Psychology.
Alice served as the choir director for many years and was a praise dancer at Miracle Faith Outreach Church in Bridgeport, CT, for many years. Alice was very active in the community and served on several boards. One particular program that was always near and dear to Alice’s heart is Re-Entry Ministries, a drug rehabilitation program for women started by Sister Queenie Mims.
Alice became a member of New Mercies Christian Church after settling in Lilburn, GA.
There are so many things that can be said about Alice as a wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, aunt, niece, and friend. Alice was a “fighter” and despite her many challenges, fought with grace and that spirit remained in her.

I was with you when you took your journey into God’s Precious Kingdom and I know in my heart ❤️ that you made it safely there. You sent me a sign letting me know that you were alright. Although we love & miss you, God loves you Best.

Please accept my sincere condolences on the passing of your mom. I am praying for comfort for your family.
With our deepest sympathy. May all your beautiful memories of her comfort you and bring peace.
May her memories comfort you, and surround you with the joy of her beautiful legacy.
Immense love to you,
Chmba.
And when great souls die,
after a period peace blooms,
slowly and always
irregularly. Spaces fill
with a kind of
soothing electric vibration.
Our senses, restored, never
to be the same, whisper to us.
They existed. They existed.
We can be. Be and be
better. For they existed.

Often repeated but still true – Heaven got a new Angel in Alice. From the first time I met her at her and Greg’s wedding, I knew she was a special person and a great mom. Praying for God’s Comfort to all and the understanding that Alice is in the hands of our Lord Jesus now.
Alice was one of the kindest person you could ever know. She was a giver, giving you her car or anything else. She loved her family and extended family for which I was a part of. She was my sister in every sense of the word. Love you Alice see you on the other side!
Please accept our condolences to the family in this time of sorrow. Sharing in your sorrow with love and friendship.

To the family. I remember Alice and her daughter Alisha when they joined our home church Miracle Faith Outreach I had to be in 10 grade. Alisha was a little girl maybe 7 or 8 years old. There was something about that family that I seen on them, it was God’s favor. I remember how they praised and worship the lord boldly. Alisha had a dance like David danced. This little girl would out shout the floor in church, you hear me… I never knew Alice was sick or would become sick, but they trusted God with all there heart and that was what I seen in them. The POWER OF GOD”s MERCY and GRACE!!! Glory Hallelujah Thank You Jesus. To the family God has it all in his hands. He has prepared a place for your mother, wife, grandmother, aunt, and sister.. God has received a beautiful Angel home to be with the lord. So be strong and rejoice in him. I will pray for peace and comfort over you during these times. Be blessed in God.
So loved! And will be so missed! Take your rest my sister,my friend! You are a strong, resilient, virtuous woman! Thank you for your love! Until we meet again…
