Marjorie Barbara Hilton-Leigh, age 82 of Scottdale GA, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, November 13, 2022. She was born on November 14, 1939, in Freetown Sierra Leone to Magnus and Abimbola Hilton-Leigh.
Marjorie attended Christ Church Primary School and Annie Walsh Memorial School and worked in the banking industry in Freetown, Sierra Leone before relocating to the United Kingdom to further her education. She completed a course in Millinery at London College of Fashion and worked in the fashion industry in the United Kingdom. Marjorie then went to the United States of America where she pursued her interest in general and automated accounting systems and worked as a lead financial data assistant for National Retired Teachers Association/American Association of Retired Persons in Washington DC. Marjorie was a member of North Decatur United Methodist Church in Decatur, GA.
She loved travelling and visited family in Europe and West Africa as often as she could. Her passion was dressmaking, cross stitching, knitting, and crocheting, which she continued to enjoy until her passing.
She is sadly mourned by her extended family including her brother Magnus and sister-in-law Dorothy and family (UK), Oluwole Richards and family (UK), Barbara Crowther and family (North Carolina, USA), Aunt Becky Lewis and family (Texas, USA), Cousins Roblin and June Jones and family (Sierra Leone and UK), and Farrell Ryan-Coker and family (Sierra Leone and UK). Numerous special friends.
