June 8, 1954 ~ April 22, 2023

Born in: Illinois
Resided in: Georgia

Mark Thayer Stetson died April 22nd in his home of natural causes. Mark was a devoted father, grandfather, great grandfather and a friend to many. Throughout his working life Mark was a computer programmer, an online bookseller and a cross country truck driver. Mark loved to assemble and fly model airplanes. Brittany and Melissa recall countless trips to the “glider hill” where he would fly his latest model airplane. He liked to listen to classic rock. He loved corvettes. He enjoyed visits from his daughters, Brittany and Melissa, most of all. He had a wonderful laugh. He was very thoughtful, bringing gifts to his neighbors and delivering flowers to the office of his apartment complex. In the last few years of his life, Mark moved into Linwood Estates in Lawrenceville, GA to be closer to his daughter, Brittany. He made many friends at Linwood. They would have meals and go to movies together. Many residents of Linwood remember Mark by his red corvette. Most of all, Mark loved his daughters. Mark is survived by his two daughters, Brittany Wood (Daniel) of Atlanta, GA and Melissa Doddridge (Jason) of Anaheim, CA; his brothers Peter Stetson (Gerry) of Fairfield, IA and Todd Stetson (Diana) of Columbia, SC; and his five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Jeffries Stetson and Gertrude McKee. A Celebration of Life will be held May 13th from 1-2pm.
