Rodell Timothy Davis Sr. 85, of West Palm Beach Florida, transitioned from this earthly life to life eternal Tuesday, December 24th, 2024 at his home.

Rodell was born on February 10,1939, in Chicago, Illinois, to Timothy and Jamie Davis. After completing the tenth grade at Wendell Phillips High School, he enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served with distinction. During his service, he entered into matrimony with the late Mildred (Madea) Ridley on September 30,1961, in New York City. The couple was blessed with six children. In 1966, Rodell relocated his family to Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Rodell was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, having dedicated over 20 years of his life to serving his country. Throughout his military career, he was fortunate enough to be assigned to a role that ignited his passion: photography. His keen eye for detail and artistic sensibility allowed him to capture unforgettable moments and tell compelling stories through his lens. After retiring from the Navy, Rodell settled in Virginia, where he embarked on a new chapter of his professional life with Raytheon (E-Systems), a prominent contract company for the CIA within United States government. There, he excelled as the Lead Supervisor, overseeing operations and mentoring his team with the same dedication he showed during his service years.

Rodell’s life took another transition on January 10th, 1981, when he married Virginia Scranage and established their residence in Stafford, Virginia. This union resulted in the birth of one child, thereby enhancing his family life. Following his retirement from Raytheon (E-Systems), he took pleasure in traveling in his recreational vehicle, residing in Louisiana until Hurricane Katrina impacted his living situation. Subsequently, he relocated to Lawrenceville, Georgia, and, as his health required him to avoid colder climates, he ultimately journeyed to West Palm Beach, Florida, demonstrating resilience in the face of life’s challenges.

Rodell enjoyed living life to the fullest. In his own words, he would often express, “I’m blessed,” and he truly was. His life was filled with countless experiences, and he had many hobbies. He loved traveling, sightseeing, watching sports, photography, driving cross-country, couponing, online shopping, and listening to jazz and gospel music. He also had a passion for cooking and barbecuing. One life-changing moment for him was when he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior during a service led by his son in 2004.

Rodell, affectionately known as “Tim,” “Dad,” or “Pop,” would often say that if asked what he loved most, he would respond, “my family.” He would reflect on his journey, saying, “I came from nothing, and look at everything I am blessed with. I am proud of each and every one of you.” He cherished his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Rodell is survived by his children: Charlotte Cunningham, Surayya Abdulmateen, Rodell (LeAnn) Davis Jr., Susan (Jerome) Davis, Rodney (Tiffany) Davis, and Richard Davis. He is also survived by his son-in-law, Cullen (Butch) Carey; 23 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren. Additionally, he is survived by his former wife, Virginia Davis, and his nephew, Erroll (Dionne) Davis.

Rodell was preceded in death by his first wife, Mildred (Madea) Davis; his daughter, Eileen (Maria) Carey; his sister, Dora Owens; his daughter-in-law, Jennifer (Richard) Davis; and his nephew, Marty Owens.
