Vance Walton passed away unexpectantly during surgery October 23, 2021.

He was born in Atlanta on November 10,1946. He attended local schools and graduated from Southwest High School in 1964. He enlisted in the USMC and served in Vietnam. When he returned to Atlanta, he began a 32 yr. career with Delta Airlines. Upon retirement Vance became interested in photography. He became a regular on the airshow circuit and traveled around the South taking pictures and making friends. He was a frequent contributor to the Airshow News Magazine. He also began wildlife photography and spent many hours in the local Gwinnett County wetlands. Vance was a loving father and grandfather and a most remarkable husband. He will be missed.

Vance was predeceased by his parents: Paul and Mildred Walton and is survived by wife Kabee Johnston, daughters Anna Sowell (Randy), Marie Keen (Bryan), stepdaughters Kalley Dixon and Jaime Verstraete (Andrew). He had 5 grandsons: Dylan Martin, Austin Sowell, Ethan Sowell (due in March), Winter Verstraete and Dashiell Verstraete. Sister Paulette Owens (Charles) and nieces Kim Valentine (Richard) and Kelly Miller (Craig).

Vance was cremated at Wages and Sons Chapel in Lawrenceville. A memorial service will be held in January. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Music Ministry at First United Methodist Church in Lawrenceville.
